Allison TES 439 off-highway transmission fluid: which grade is on Allison's list?

Rubia Works 4000 15W-40 is the only grade we stock on Allison's TES 439 Approved Fluids list (approval 439-36892022, list dated 18 Jun 2025).[1]

TotalEnergies says Dynatrans ACX 30 meets TES 439, but it is not on Allison's list. Allison says to check that a fluid is listed before using it, so confirm before you fill.[2][3]

How is TES 439 different from TES 353 and TES 781?

Allison's off-highway recommendations give different drain intervals: 1200 hours for TES 439, 2500 hours for TES 781 and 4000 hours for TES 353. TES 781 is for stationary applications only.[2]

Allison also sets a 48-month limit for low use (under 500 hours a year) with oil analysis, and filter changes at 600 hours or by prognostics. Check #1098 for your series.[2]
